The sixth, seventh and eighth grades visited the National Gallery this week, to see some fabulous art work by famous masters. While the seventh and eighth grades were seeing art related to the Christmas story, the sixth grade was seeing a number of old testament stories brought to life by great artists.

Our tour guide did an excellent job of helping us see new and different things in each painting, and she also helped us see the differences between the styles employed by each of the artists. We saw works by Dutch, French and Italian painters from the Renaissance.

We also saw works by the American Artist, Thomas Cole, which showed the artist's sense of the stages of a man's life,

Fourth Grade Takes Mount Vernon!

Mrs. Trono's Fabulous Fourth Grade recently took a field trip to the home of our very first President.

At Mount Vernon, they placed flowers on President Washington's grave, toured the mansion, met a Revolutionary War soldier, learned how to make paper and barrells, sat in a self-fanning chair, and even learned how to throw feathered corn cobs through a hoop!!!

All in all, it was a great day with the young gentlemen and ladies from Angelus Academy!!

General Washington would have been proud!!!!!
